Every year, WIRES receives thousands of calls for advice concerning interactions between domestic pets and native animals. Sadly, this is a common cause of injury in suburban areas and if the injured native animal is not immediately taken to receive veterinary care, the consequences can be fatal. Luckily, there are some precautions that can be taken to help minimise the risks of wildlife being injured, and to avoid unpleasant situations for your family pet. WIRES have many initiatives including National Grants, Emergency funding, Landcare Alliance, Specialised projects (more recently Koalas and Native Animal Disease Research), Conservation projects and the Water for Wildlife initiative.
Through social media, there is even more visibility with the reality that cat rescue groups are facing. As a charity, cat rescue groups depend on community support to cover the costs of running the rescue. The costs include professional care and advisory staff; veterinary expenses including health checks, desexing and any necessary treatments or surgery; vaccinations; microchips; kitty litter as well as costs to promote their adoptions and welfare work plus administration costs.
Cat Harness Australia makes regular donations to a variety of cat rescue groups within Australia. We also exclusively wholesale to rescue groups and small businesses. By rescue groups having being a stockist of our products, their profit allows them fund the costs of their rescue.

We designed and developed our Cat Puffer Jacket for 2 years and tested it with Aussie domestic cats. However, it is perfect as a small dog puffer jacket too!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a cat harness, this is a jacket only.
This cat puffer jacket is ideal for cats of all sizes with 2 x length options for each of our 6 sizes. Our sizes range from a kitten size (XS), up to a full adult Maine Coon (XXL). Plus by adding a long and short version, we can ensure your cat gets the most coverage to stay warm, right up to their tail. For your cat, make sure to refer to the detailed size chart.
Please note: For outdoor adventures, Catventure harness must be worn underneath jacket.

Great little jacket. Looks fabulous. Recommend sizing up to allow for winter puff/fur.
This puffer jacket is super lightweight yet surprisingly warm.
The fit is perfect thanks to the velcro straps, and my cat still has plenty of mobility.

I recommend sizing up if your cat wears a harness underneath.

We’re going through some really windy, frigid weather (single digits). Put the new “Puffer Jacket” on my triple-coated Siberian girl and it was not only stylish but she seemed to be impervious to the elements swirling around her. Highly recommend! This is my 3rd purchase with this great company and it has been 100% joy for me and her!
Marlee loves his puffer jacket. He looks very cute in it and has needed it this winter to keep toasty.
The puffer is the perfect fit for Ginny. I used to have to keep Ginny inside on cold days as outside she would just stand there shivering but with the puffer this gives her the freedom to be snug and warm on cold winter days. Ginny loves her regular catventure harness and has no problems with me popping this on her too.
My poor boy got a urinary blockage earlier this year and the vets had to shave off some fur on his body to apply a pain relief patch. Meeko loves to go outside in his Catventure harness for walks but I was worried the loss of some of his coat would mean he’d get cold outside in winter. So, I bought this jacket to cover up his lost fur and keep him warm. You can see in the photo, he is a happy boy once again!
The puffer vest has been a lifesaver for my 16 year old boy. He's getting old really fast and this winter has been particularly hard on him. He loves being outdoors and loves the cold but it hasn't been great for his arthritic joints so I haven't allowed him outside. It was breaking my heart to see the little boi sit by the balcony window forlornly. I knew I had to get the puffer vest for him and now, we're both happy - he gets to go outside and I know he's keeping warm.

However my Burmese who is used to walking in a harness protests when I put it on her.
I use it in temps usually below 12 degrees C.
Outdoors only.
The Velcro under her tummy & neck is too noisy when you take it off. That noise bothers her.
I would prefer a clip closure on the garment & a thin neck.
She walks in it ok but she likes to walk on a bluestone retaining wall next to a fence & now falls off because it’s too thick & she gets caught/stuck on the fence!
It is too wide under her neck.
It is very warm.
I believe a thinner more thermal fabric would suit better than a puffer design. It is really too bulky.
The jacket is ‘short’ glad I didn’t get a ‘long’.
Size is large.
Fantastic customer service in helping me choose the size. If I had gone with the size chart & her measurements it would have been too small.
